Maddy Murray
Learning Facilitator (PEP)
Maddy is an English and drama teacher and a drama and movement therapist.
Maddy studied English and Theatre at Warwick University where she directed and produced student theatre. On her year abroad in Berlin, she worked as an assistant director for the International People’s Theatre Berlin - here she gained a passion for socially engaged, inclusive theatre practice.
After university, Maddy completed her PGCE in English Secondary teaching and spent six years working as a classroom teacher in schools across the UK. Her time in schools
In the past two years, Maddy completed an MA in drama and movement therapy at The Central School of Speech and Drama. This training gave her the opportunity to explore how theatrical techniques can nurture the development and well being of marginalised people such as older adults with dementia, those living with mental health problems and children with complex learning difficulties.
Outside of her work, Maddy loves crafting, being in nature and bargain hunting in charity shops.
