Drama Inspiration award

Our Artistic Director Nina Lemon received the Drama Inspiration Awards at the Music and Drama Education Awards.

Nina founded Peer Productions in 2006 with a clear vision to use theatre to transform young people’s lives.

The award was judged by a jury of drama experts included James Clarke, head of drama at Twyford CofE School and 2022 Inspirational Teacher Award winner; education consultant and writer Patrice Baldwin; Steve Ball, chair of the Drama and Theatre Education Alliance; Alex Lipman, senior director of drama and music at 2022 Best Drama Department winner Claremont High School Academy; and Vishni Velada Billson, director of Open Court at the Royal Court Theatre.  


The judges chose Nina from a prestigious shortlist citing her commitment to making opportunities accessible especially for young people who are disadvantaged or may otherwise miss out.

Nina was presented with her award by Sarah Lambie, Editor, Drama & Theatre Magazine and the ceremony was hosted by Aled Jones.

Peer were also honoured to be shortlisted in the Outstanding Drama Initative category.
