The Surrey Wellbeing Partnership

In 2020, we became part of the Surrey Wellbeing Partnership. This partnership brings together NHS clinical expertise with local and national third sector organisations, such as Peer Productions, who have proven track records in delivering services to children and young people. This means that our services are now directly connected to mental health services (such as CAMHS) for your students.

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) is the name for the NHS services that assess and treat young people with emotional, behavioural or mental health difficulties, covering depression, self-harm, problems with food and eating, and anxiety, among other difficulties. For children and young people with neurodevelopmental needs, including those who are autistic or have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), this partnership means that support will be available earlier within the community and without the need for a formal diagnosis. This will allow conversations to begin sooner about the best ways a child or young person can be supported.

Chris Hickford, Director of the Surrey Wellbeing Partnership, said: “We share the commissioners’ passionate belief that easily accessed, high quality support for children, young people and their families results in a better quality of life for all concerned. We are therefore utterly determined to achieve this in Surrey by building on the strong foundations, relationships and good work that already exists and by making sure that children and young people are supported quickly, in schools and their communities, as their need emerges.”
