Generation Girls

Generation Girls is a project for Autistic girls and girls with learning disabilities.

Led by a female facilitator and supported by a team of trained female peer educators (aged 18 - 21) the programmes explore issues that matter most to young women in a safe and supportive environment. Topics include self-esteem and body image, healthy relationships, and mental health. The project takes on two forms:

  1. A 10-week empowering drama programme for girls.

  2. Online interactive 'smart script' workshops.

Having successfully completed four pilot projects with a range of different groups, Peer Productions are now rolling out the programme in SEN Schools for the second year running. Our workshops are fun, informative and suitable for girls with learning difficulties or disabilities and Autistic girls.

We are currently working with:

The Park School - Woking
Carwarden House School - Camberley
Gosden House School - Guildford
Philip Southcote School - Weybridge

During the 2020 lockdown Peer Productions received additional funding from Community Foundation for Surrey and Berkshire Community Foundation to create online resources for Generation Girls.

As part of this, the project now has a dedicated website -www.generationgirlsuk.com

If you would like your school to be involved with this programme - please email rosie@peerproductions.co.uk

Generation Girls was founded by Nina Lemon, Artistic Director of Peer Productions, in 2014. For 2021/22, The Generation Girls facilitators are Rosie Horler, Lucy Barton and Lydia Markham.
