New Name - Same Brilliant Programme!

In consultation with our brilliant PEP artists, we’ve decided to change the name of our specialist training programme for young actors and theatre-makers with learning disabilities.

When we started the course in 2022 we called it the Peer EMPLOYMENT Pathway or PEP for short. Employment remains a key potential outcome for the course, but it’s not the only wonderful result of this transformative training programme.

By taking part in our holistic and wide ranging programme, which includes support with health and wellbeing, as well as industry awareness, performance skills, life skills and project work alongside employability skills, learners training on PEP tell us they feel more creative, more confident and more able to communicate and to advocate for their own needs.

From this year, our PEP learners additionally have the opportunity to have their learning accredited and certificated with Creative and Performing Arts vocational qualifications from RSL and our current name just doesn’t reflect the breadth of opportunity we provide. The ethos and practice of this brilliant programme isn’t changing but the new name better represents the experience of our learners.

From now on the course will be called the Peer Empowerment Pathway.

p.s For a while you may still see printed materials which have the old name. As part of our commitment to sustainability we don't want to throw away resources already created.
