We are delighted to announce that Peer Productions are moving back to the heart of Woking where we founded the company 15 years ago.

Peer Productions is a unique youth arts training company founded by our Artistic Director Nina Lemon. We specialise in combining creative practice with peer education and every year we offer a free, full time training course for young actors (aged 18 - 23 years).

During their year with Peer, young actors develop their own craft whilst taking part in a range of plays and projects which are delivered in the community and undertaking an accredited qualification. Young people relocate from all over the country to take part and this move to central Woking (only 25 minutes from Waterloo) will make this opportunity even more accessible. Our next training programme starts at the beginning of October 2021 and there is still time to apply.

Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the Peer Productions charity has continued to grow and develop, diversifying our work to include digital projects alongside our live theatre offer and building our partnerships with other like minded Surrey based charities via the Surrey Wellbeing Partnership.

Artistic Director Nina Lemon said, ‘We are so thankful to South Hill Park Arts Centre where we have been resident for the past 4 years for all their support and are also very excited to be developing our own space for the first time.’

Working in partnership with Woking Borough Council, Peer will be moving into the building formally known as the Ypod in Woking town centre. The building already has ample facilities for training, rehearsals and project based work and we have been invited to the second stage of Surrey CC’s Your Fund grant scheme where, if successful, we will also be able to develop the currently unused second floor which requires significant development. Our plan, working with existing and new partners over the next few years, is to create a thriving youth arts hub for Woking, with a much needed focus on young people’s mental health and well being.
